Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral?
A referral is not always required, but it can be helpful, especially for reconstructive procedures that may be partially or fully covered by OHIP. We can guide you on what is needed when you contact the office.
Where is Dr. Copeland's office located?
Consultations take place at the Jerry Coughlan Health & Wellness Centre, 1690 Dersan St., Suite 250 on the second floor. Surgery is planned from there, with the location carefully chosen based on the type of surgery and your medical history.
What happens during a consultation?
Your consultation is a private, unhurried conversation. Dr. Copeland will listen to your concerns, explain what may be possible, and help you understand whether surgery is appropriate for you.
Will Dr. Copeland tell me if she does not recommend surgery?
Yes. If surgery is not in your best interest, that will be part of the conversation. The right recommendation matters more than the procedure.
Do you have before and after photos?
Photographs may be shared privately during your consultation where appropriate and where patients have given consent. Your own consultation, medical information, and any photographs are kept private and handled in accordance with professional and legal standards.
